Authorities searching for suspect after Omaha gas station shooting

Two people in their 20s were injured in a shooting at a gas station in Omaha by an unknown suspect.

OMAHA, Neb. -- The Omaha Police Department said they are investigating a shooting that injured two people Tuesday morning. 

OPD said that around 5:40 a.m., they were called to a residence in the 3000 block of Ames Ave. 

Officials said that officers responded and found two victims in the area. 

The victims were a 20-year-old and 23-year-old, both of whom had already left the scene and later arrived by a private vehicle at a local hospital. 

The victims were transported to CUMC-Bergan Mercy Hospital for additional care. 

OPD officers said they determined there was a verbal and physical altercation in the parking lot at 3024 Ames. 

Authorities said that a black male shot both victims during the disturbance and then ran from the scene. The victims' injuries were determined to not be life-threatening. 

This is an ongoing investigation.
