(Peru, Neb.)—Over the weekend the Peru State men's bowling team finished in third at the Heart Championships hosted by Grand View University in Des Moines. The first day was 28 games of Baker style bowling to determine seeding for the double elimination tournament that occurred on Sunday.

On Saturday after 28 games of Baker bowling the Bobcats finished in fourth place with 4538 pins. The top three were William Penn 4926 pins, Clarke with 4566 pins and Grand View with 4547 pins. Clinching the four seed the Bobcats faced off against fifth seed Baker in round one of the Heart Championships on Sunday.

Peru State went onto beat Baker three games to one with scores of 140, 213, 171 and 204, Baker had scores of 211, 210, 169 and 187. In round two of the tournament the 'Cats were swept by the one seed William Penn Statesmen. The Statesmen scored 182, 216 and 190 while the Bobcats scored 170, 208 and 168.

In the loser's bracket Peru State faced off with six seed Culver-Stockton and swept the Wildcats. The Bobcats scored 189, 234 and 212. The Wildcats scored 166, 191 and 169. Peru State then faced off against the two seed Clarke.
The Bobcats swept the Pride in this round. The 'Cats scored 177, 222 and 226 while the Pride scored 175, 199 and 178. The win set up a rematch with the one seed William Penn.

Unfortunately, the Statesmen swept the Bobcats for the second time on Sunday. The Statesmen scored 236, 257 and 225 while the Bobcats scored 163, 200 and 178. The 'Cats finished third in the Heart Conference Tournament and have already qualified for U.S. Sectionals in Dallas, Texas coming up this month.

Peru State men's bowler Isaac Skalak (Lincoln) won Heart Men's Bowler of the Year and was First Team All-Conference.

The Bobcats will be back in action in Dallas for the U.S. Sectionals on March 12 and 13.
