Bobcat dance team fourth at UDA Regionals

(Peru, Neb.) – The Peru State Bobcat competitive dance team recently competed in the Universal Dance Association (UDA) Spirit of America Challenge held in Minneapolis, Minn., on January 8.
The Bobcats, while competing against much-larger institutions, placed fourth in the Open Pom Division by scoring 76.875 points.
Saint Cloud State (Minn.) won the competition with a score of 86.85 while the College of St. Benedict (Minn.) finished second with an 83.375.
Finishing just ahead of Peru State was the University of Wisconsin-River Falls with a 79.325.
The 'Cats nudged out Minnesota State Moorhead which finished with a 76.275 and Winona State (Minn.) who did not receive a score.

The UDA has a goal of inspire leadership among today's dance teams. UDA believes that the primary purpose of a dancer is to support athletic programs and to provide entertainment to the crowd before and during the games.
Upcoming Contests
Peru State will be competing in the UDA College Dance Team National Championship this coming Saturday in Orlando, Fla.
The Bobcats' NAIA competition schedule begins on Wednesday, Jan. 26, when they compete in the Concordia University triangular in Seward.
