CASS COUNTY, Neb. -- Two people are recovering from injuries after a car accident involving a cow in southeast Nebraska. 

The Cass County Sheriff's Office said the accident happened December 20th near Weeping Water. 

Authorities said a car driven by a 16-year-old was driving east on Highway 34 when it hit a cow in the road.

The driver was taken by medical helicopter to Bergan Mercy in Omaha for her injuries. 

The passenger was also taken to Bergan Mercy for her injuries. 

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the accident.
