Trials set for Johnson County man on charges of drug, cash and weapons
State seeks forfeiture of $68,000 - some in sealed packages
TECUMSEH – A Johnson County man is scheduled for a Dec. 7 trial on allegations delivery of marijuana and psilocybin mushrooms and possession of methamphetamine in October.
Kevin Golden, 50, has entered not guilty pleas to deliver of illegal drugs and possession of a deadly weapon.
Prosecutors are also seeking forfeiture of over $68,000 in currency that was seized from Golden’s residence when the Nebraska State Patrol served a search warrant there on Oct. 28.
Court records say 83 pounds of marijuana and a half pound of mushrooms were seized, along with the currency.
A Nov. 9 jury trial is scheduled on a charge of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person on March 18.
In that case, the Nebraska State Patrol reports finding .22 and 9 mm ammunition in a camper on Golden’s property and found 20 guns at a Tecumseh residence that purportedly belong to Golden.
