Falls City police report seat belt enforcement

FALLS CITY – Falls City police participated in the click-it or ticket mobilization May 24 to June 6.

Officers made 66 traffic stops that resulted in 18 citations. Five were for seatbelt violations and others were for burglary and drug offenses. These stops were made in addition to 148 calls for service.

A pre-wave survey indicated 44 percent seatbelt use in the city. A post-wave survey indicates that seat belt usage went up to 58 percent during the enforcement.
