Schools ask for continued patience as vaccination dates still ahead

NEBRASKA CITY - A joint letter from Nebraska City schools asks for the community's continued patience regarding the coronavirus pandemic even as schools prepare for staff vaccinations.
The letter says the schools expect vaccinations of educators to be part of the Phase 1B being implemented by the state and Southeast District Health Department.
The letter says the schools do not know the exact date the vaccines will be available to educators, but expect it soon.
The letter says the schools have been able to operate during the pandemic because of the flexibility and the support of the public and ask for that to continue.
The Nebraska Department of Education has granted 4 school days this year that may be used for Covid related issues, that would allow staff to communicate, plan, and address Covid related issues. NCPS and LCC may use one or two of these allotted days to vaccinate staff. Students would not report on these days.
