Plattsmouth man enters possession plea

PLATTSMOUTH – A 66-year-old Plattsmouth man has entered a plea to possession of less than 28 grams of meth with intent to distribute.
Robert Cordes had been charged with possession of 142 grams or more on March 10, but the charge was reduced in a plea agreement.
Defense attorneys objected to statements given to law enforcement during a search of a residence on Fir Circle. A motion to suppress says Cordes invoked his right to remain silent, but continued to be asked questions.
The defense also questioned the validity of a “trash pull.” The defense said the trash pull did not provide enough evidence to issue a search warrant and said the state failed to say how often garbage is collected and how long the trash might have been out for collection.
Sentencing is scheduled March 1.
