Police modify 2020 'shop with a cop'

NEBRASKA CITY – Nebraska City Police Department’s annual “shop with a cop” program has been modified this year due to the pandemic, but police say there is still plenty of excitement.

Ten children provided police with their wish list and officers are shopping and wrapping. They will deliver gifts on Dec. 19 with a parade of lights.

Ofc. Ben Murry said although officers do not get to see the excitement on each child’s face as they shop, the kids will get the surprise as to what they get as they open their gift.
