Q Road accident shuts down Highway 75
Update: 14-year-old driver was fined $25 for failure to yield right of way.
Update: A Lexus driven by Pyong McCoy, 70, of Lincoln and a Toyota driven by 14-year-old Cora Krog of Nebraska City collided Dec. 10 at Highway 75 and Q Road.
Nebraska City rescue transported Pyong and a 74-year-old passenger Robert McCoy to CHI Health St. Mary's. Family members say the passenger was transported to a trauma center with serious injuries.
NEBRASKA CITY – Emergency crews responded Thursday morning to an injury accident south of Nebraska City.
Nebraska City Fire and Rescue was dispatched at 7:30 a.m. to Highway 75 and Q Road.
Otoe County Sheriff Colin Caudill reported that two Lincoln residents, a 70-year-old driver and 74-year-old passenger, were transported to CHI Health St. Mary's.
A 14-year-old driver and her 13-year-old passenger sustained minor injuries and were not transported.
The sheriff says the 14-year-old was turning left from Q Road onto Highway 75 and failed to yield right of way to oncoming traffic.
