Slama, Palmtag Forum Canceled

AUBURN — Rural Impact Hub in Auburn announced Monday afternoon that the Oct. 12 candidate forum featuring legislature candidates Julie Slama and Janet Palmtag has been canceled.

A press release says the online forum is canceled because the candidates have been unable to agree on the forum’s format.

A Rural Impact Hub forum prior to the primary attracted hundreds of viewers and allowed equal time for each candidate.

Rural Impact Hub programming director Rebecca Johnson: “The Rural Impact Hub’s forum was designed to give District 1 constituents the opportunity to hear from the candidates running to represent them in the Legislature – something that doesn’t always happen in rural communities. We were proud to offer this, and plan to continue hosting opportunities for civic engagement in the future.”
