Farm Tractor Driver Flown To Hospital

Update: The Otoe County Sheriff's Office has released identities of drivers in a Highway 2 accident on Thursday. The driver of the Farmall tractor is 65-year-old Galen Crawford of rural Unadilla and the driver of the freight truck is 45-year-old Efrin Robles of Midland, Texas.
Sheriff Colin Caudill said the accident highlights the importance of staying alert to slower-moving traffic during the harvest season.
UNADILLA – The driver of a farm tractor was taken by Star Care medical helicopter Thursday afternoon from a Highway 2 accident east of the Hooper Creek bridge on Highway 2 between Palmyra and Unadilla.
Otoe County Sheriff’s Deputy James Parsons said it appears that the driver of a westbound truck and semi-trailer did not see the slow-moving farm equipment. The truck went up on top of a baler pulled by the tractor and continued on top of the tractor.

The truck tipped onto its side in the ditch, but the driver suffered only minor injuries.
Palmyra Rescue attended to the tractor driver until he was loaded onto the air ambulance. Several fire and rescue crews responded to the accident, which closed the westbound lanes of the highway.
