AUBURN – A post on Swap and Talk led to the arrest of 30-year-old Matthew Dinovo of Council Bluffs who is suspected of burglary and theft of Mondocat fishing gear out of Auburn.

The owner of Mellage Truck and Tractor reported a burglary on June 27. Among items missing were a fishing reel, Mondocat poles, lawn mowers and a battery charger.

Court records say the Mondocat manufacturer alerted investigators to a Swap and Talk post regarding fishing gear. Nemaha County deputies answered the post and arranged to meet with Dinovo at a Casey’s store in Plattsmouth. Dinovo was arrested by Plattsmouth police after the stolen items, including a Abu Garcia reel, were identified.

Court records say Dinovo told investigators that some items had belonged to his grandfather and others he had won in a bet.
