Flyover in tribute of medical workers begins at Nebraska City

NEBRASKA CITY - The Nebraska Air National Guard is planning a flyover tribute in Nebraska City on Monday morning with favorable weather.

The flyovers, which include Norfolk, Grand Island, McCook, Ogallala, Chadron and many other Nebraska cities, will begin at 10:10 a.m. over CHI Health St. Mary’s. The flyovers will conclude at Lincoln’s Bryan West at 2:40 p.m.

A KC-135 R tanker from the 155th Air Refueling wing will fly over 10 hospitals in the Omaha area.

People are asked to watch the flyover from their homes or while practicing social distancing.

Over 600 members of the Nebraska National Guard have been active in response to the coronavirus pandemic, shipping medical supplies, packing boxes for food banks and at testing stations.
