First Defender of Life Award Given
Gov. Ricketts receives award prior to proclaiming day of prayer to end abortion

By News Channel NebraskaLINCOLN – The Nebraska Family Alliance presented Gov. Pete Ricketts with its inaugural “Defender of Life” award on Jan. 22.
The governor received the award at a prayer breakfast hosted by the family alliance in Lincoln. The breakfast coincided with the governor’s proclamation of a Statewide Day of Prayer to end abortion.
Gov. Ricketts, Lt. Gov. Mike Foley and State Sen. Suzanne Geist attended.
Sen. Geist introduced LB 814 to prohibit dismemberment abortion in Nebraska.
