Police, Sheriff Cooperate In Undercover Operation Against Methamphetamine and Firearms Deal
Kansas suspect apprehended after fleeing in Cadillac and then on foot

FALLS CITY – A 31-year-old Hiawatha, Kan., man faces drug and weapons charges after an undercover operation in Falls City conducted jointly by the Richardson County Sheriff’s Office and Falls City Police Department.
At 1:47 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 4, deputies and police conducted a controlled buy of methamphetamine and firearms.
A sheriff’s office press release says Cody Rhyne fled arrest in a 2006 Cadillac. The pursuit ended south of highways 8 and 105, where Rhyne crashed.
He then fled a quarter mile on foot through a cornfield before he was apprehended.
During an inventory of the suspect’s vehicle, a 9mm hand gun was located, about 11 ounces of meth and other controlled substances estimated to have a street value of $25,000. Also seized was $2,300 in cash.

- Possession of Marijuana

- Deliver exceptional hazardous drug within 1000 ft of a school
- Possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony x2

- Possession of a controlled substance
- No operator’s license
- Carry a concealed weapon
- Felony-operate motor vehicle to avoid arrest
