Party chairman says Slama is the only candidate the party endorses for the First District

LINCOLN – The Nebraska Republican Party announced its endorsement of Julie Slama for the Nebraska Legislature.

Nebraska Republican Party Chairman Dan Welch called Slama an effective voice for the residents of District 1.

He said she is the only candidate endorsed by the Nebraska Republican Party in the first district Legislature, identifying her as a standout for the interests of rural communities, young people, small government advocates and the pro-life movement.

A press release from the state Republican Party, says Slama has also received endorsements from Gov. Pete Ricketts, Lt. Gov. Mike Foley, Speaker Jim Scheer, Attorney General Doug Peterson and other elected officials.

She was named the 2019 National Young Republic Legislator of the Year after being appointed to the seat by Gov. Ricketts.
