Another night of raising money for breast cancer support in the books

A northeast Nebraska nonprofit has completed another year of it’s fundraiser to support breast cancer survivors.

NORFOLK, Neb.— A northeast Nebraska nonprofit has completed another year of it’s fundraiser to support breast cancer survivors. 

For the Girls is a Norfolk-based nonprofit aimed at supported women fighting breast cancer. The organization held “Hope, Humor and Healing” event on Thursday to raise money for the cause. 

“Last night was another amazing for the girls event. I am thankful for the generosity of this community and the committee for their time and talent and treasures,” Organizer Lori Williams said. “We love putting this together because it all going back into our community.”

Williams said this years theme and speaker hit home for her and many in the crowd. 

Kat Timpf, a comedian, New York Times bestselling author and television personality who was diagnosed with breast cancer just hours before giving birth to her first child. 

Williams said the impact of Timpf’s story will be felt for years to come. 

The total number raised has not yet been shared.
