NioCorp begins work on mine portal
Company continues financing project
ELK CREEK - NioCorp announced Thursday that construction of the main access to the underground portion of the company’s Elk Creek Critical Minerals Project has begun.
The portal is expected to be used to deliver ore from the underground mine to the surface production plant.
CEO Mark Smith said NioCorp is preparing to launch the entire project and host a groundbreaking ceremony when the company’s financing project is complete.
The mine portal construction advances the Elk Creek Project from the planning phase into the pre-construction phase.
Scott Honan of the Elk Creek Resources Corp. said the team will focus on the portal project over the next nine months.
