Nebraska City reclaiming bus service
School actively looking for bus drivers

NEBRASKA CITY – Nebraska City Public Schools will take over bus management 13 years after turning the work over to a private company.
A school press release says the district is transitioning into bus management and expects to by fully responsible for all transportation activity and bus routes beginning in the 2026-27 school year.
The school says bringing transportation services in-house will give the district greater flexibility while keeping a focus on safety and service quality.
The press release says the school is building its fleet responsibly in collaboration with an area school district.
The school expresses gratitude for its drivers helping make the transition and says the school is actively seeking more bus drivers.
In the fall of 2013, under former school superintendent Jeff Edwards, the school turned over bus management to MidStates School Bus. The private company had responsibility for hiring drivers and repairing buses.
