Sidney golfers qualify for state at district meet in Nebraska City

Sidney placed third at the Class B-3 District Meet in Nebraska City, punching their ticket to the state tournament Oct. 13–14 in Scottsbluff.

NEBRASKA CITY — The Sidney girls golf team is headed to state after finishing third at the Nebraska School Activities Association Class B-3 District Meet Tuesday at The Golf Club at Table Creek.

The Lady Raiders shot a team score of 360 to secure a top-three finish and a spot in next week’s Class B State Girls Golf Championships at Scottsbluff Country Club.

Seniors Josette McConnell and Aubrey Campbell led the way, each carding 87s to finish seventh and eighth individually. Senior Cali Haas added a 92, followed by Sarah Monheiser with a 94 and Lia Capriotti with a 100.

Gretna East captured the district title with a team score of 323, led by medalist Hadley Babe, who fired a 75. Lincoln Pius X finished second at 359, while Aurora’s Julia Messere and Delainey Phillips and Hastings’ Kathryn Krueger advanced as individual qualifiers.

The 2025 NSAA Class B State Girls Golf Tournament will be held Oct. 13–14 at the Scottsbluff Country Club.
