SIDNEY -- The Alan Hartzler Basketball Courts were busy with a memorial 3-on-3 tournament.

The August 2 the first Annual Marcus Hartzler 3 vs 3 memorial basketball tournament attracted 23 teams from third grade to adult in mens and women's divisions. A total of 34 games were played.

Winners are:

•Boys 3rd-4th/5th-6th -- MPK -- Pace Lewis, Mitch Wieser and Kasen Miller;

•Boys 7th-8th grade -- Triple Elite -- Owen Dishman, Myles Faessler, and Ben Roberts; 

• Girls 7th-8th grade -- Swish Sisters -- Aleah Schumacher, Auria Schumacher, Nora Jenson and Luci Grove;

• Girls 9th-10th grade -- Sidney 9th -- Ansley Santero, Kinley Schnell, Kinsley Lewis and Emma Ford;

• Boys 11th-12th grade -- Young Bucks -- Traysen Best, Devonte Taylor, Angel Red Nest and Riley Best;

• Men's -- Cream Team -- Sawyer Dickman, Jacob Dowse, Jaeden Dillehay and Hayden Sircey.

Friends, family and volunteers assisted with the event.

Alan Hartzler passed away in December 2019. Marcus Hartzler passed away in May 2023 at the age of 32.
