NEBRASKA CITY- Mitchell Elliott, 33, of Sterling was sentenced in Otoe County to six to 10 years in prison for intent to deliver on March 15.

An Otoe County Sheriff’s Office affidavit says the deputy was aware of a domestic violence warrant out of Johnson County when he noticed a vehicle he linked to Elliott.

The affidavit says the deputy went to knock on the door at a Sixth Avenue residence when a vehicle pulled away with Elliott inside.

When the deputy caught up the vehicle was turning around in a driveway on 20th Street, but there was no longer a passenger.

The deputy said he heard noises in some nearby evergreen trees and told Elliott to come out or he would release his service dog. He said Elliott immediately came out.

The affidavit says a Nebraska City police officer found two bags containing methamphetamine, pharmaceutical needles and containers labeled THC wax by the evergreen trees.

The affidavit says about 33 grams of meth, a gram of psilocybin mushroom, marijuana and 35 THC vape pens, along with 80 pills were found in evergreens and in the car that Elliott was riding in.

There were initially nine charges, but all were dropped except delivery of methamphetamine.
