Ronald L. "Ron" Booth, 79, Nebr. City

Ronald L. “Ron” Booth, age 79 of Nebraska City, NE passed away on Monday, April 7, 2025 at the Ambassador in Nebr. City with his family by his side.
Ronald Lee Booth was born on September 4, 1945 in Kearney, NE; the son of Gifford and Edith (Rose) Booth. He attended Gothenburg Public Schools and graduated from Bertrand High School in 1963. He entered the United States Army in February of 1964 and proudly served his country until his honorable discharge on March 7, 1968. He was stationed in California and Germany during his time in the service. He later joined the Nebraska National Guard Company A34 Inf. and retired as a First Sgt. after 22 years.
Upon returning from the Army, he went to Kearney State College and graduated in 1972. After graduation from college, he first taught for two years at Elm Creek, NE, followed by 26 years at Nebraska City Public Schools. His building construction classes built several homes around Nebraska City as well as shelters at some of the parks, decks on homes and many other projects. Several of his students went on to work in the construction field and even started their own companies.
He married Peggy Tansey in September of 1968 in Gothenburg, NE and to this union two sons were born: Jay and Brian. They later divorced. On December 12, 1981, Ron married Faye Golden Cooper in Nebraska City, NE and her children, James and Tiffany then joined the family.
Ron was a member of the First Baptist Church where he also served as a Trustee. He helped with many projects at the church. He also loved seeing all the children in church and would encourage them in some way. Before his health declined, he loved golf. He would play every chance he had and was a member of two golf leagues. His red golf cart was always on the go!
He is survived by his wife Faye Booth of Nebr. City, NE; children: James “Jay” Booth (Ronda) of Nebr. City, NE, Brian Booth of Nebr. City, NE, James Cooper (Steve Krisek) of The Villages, FL and Tiffany Stoner (Steve) of Platte City, MO; grandchildren: Jason (Stephanie) Booth, Jesse (Jenna) Booth, Cara Booth, Lindsey Booth, Mallory (Casey) Jumps and Peyton (Ashley) Stoner; great-grandchildren: Justin Booth, Adley Booth, Levi Booth and Brynn Booth; sister Jeanne Renken of Bertrand, NE; sisters and brothers-in-laws: Karen Golden of Gretna, NE, Jean Hollmann Searcy (Marion) of San Benito, TX and John Golden (Elaine) of Nebr. City, NE; nephews, nieces, many friends and other family.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, siblings: Geraldine Gatley (Harold) and Larry Booth; father and mother-in-law William Golden and Freda Dickey; sister-in-law Nancy Wurtele; brothers-in-law: Rick Hollmann, Norrie Renken and Bob Golden.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at the First Baptist Church in Nebr. City with Pastor Keith Hunt officiating. Immediately following the services, there will be a time of lunch and fellowship in the church hall at which time the family will be able to visit with those attending. Inurnment will be at 2:00 p.m. at Camp Creek Cemetery, southeast of Nebr. City with Military Honors.
Memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church.
