Lincoln surveying route for water line to Missouri River

PLATTSMOUTH - Cass County commissioners approved a survey permit for a Lincoln water project.
Cassgram reports that Lincoln utilities have plans for a well field and treatment plant near the Missouri River. A 48 to 60-inch pipeline would transport clean drinking water west to Lincoln and serve communities in Cass County, as well.
Engineers says permanent survey markers will be installed along the right of way as part of a topographic survey. Once installed, property owners would be notified to finalize the pipe route.
Both potential well fields are in Cass County with one extending south into Otoe County. The treatment plant would be in Cass County for either well field location.
The potential supply lines run between Union and Murray.
Lincoln’s 98th Street water main project is expected to be complete in 2026 and available to connect to the Missouri River wellfield.
The Bellevue Bay Indoor Water Park has scheduled a groundbreaking event on March 20.
The recreation complex is located at Bellevue with a completion date expected in 2027.
