Marcella R. “Marcy” (Turner) Bassinger, age 46 of Nebraska City, NE passed away on Monday afternoon; February 24, 2025 at CHI Mercy Medical Center in Council Bluffs, IA.

Marcella Rahe (Turner) Bassinger was born on December 25, 1978 at University Hospital in Columbia, MO; the daughter of  Jimmy and Tina (Griffin) Turner.  She attended school in Sturgeon, MO and later the family moved to Nebraska City, NE.  She then attended the Nebraska City Public Schools where she graduated with the Class of 1997.

Marcy attended Joseph’s College of Beauty and also took EMT classes.  She worked at O’Reilly Auto Parts, Fastenal and was currently working at Dollar Fresh; all in Nebraska City.  She was a fantastic cook, loved jeeping, hunting and crafts; but her greatest love was her family – especially her grandchildren!

She is survived by her loving companion and life partner Scott Hobbie of Nebraska City; children:  JR Hobbie (Megan Santana) of Stella, NE, Sarah Witter (Tyler), Kylee Bohlen (Nick), Brandon Hobbie, Kaja Hobbie and Reed Bassinger  all of Nebraska City; her parents Dean and Tina Krog of Nebraska City; grandchildren:  Pax, Nezy, Vincent, Aeliayah, Benntley, Ashtynn, Audi, Braxtyn, Zari, (and another to be born in August) and Luna; a brother Jarrod Turner (Danie) of Centralia, MO; niece Abbi Turner and nephew Tucker Turner; aunts, uncles, other family and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her father Jimmy Turner, twins Braydin and Brenden Bassinger and a granddaughter Jaiden Witter.

A CELEBRATION OF LIFE for Marcy will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be directed to the Reed Bassinger Fund to aid in future education.
