SIDNEY, Neb. – Sidney High School hosted wrestlers from across the region in a girls wrestling invite Friday.

At 100 pounds, Avalina Stoner, a senior from Mitchell, improved to 19-2 this season after pinning freshman Capri Sayer, of Southwest, in just 56 seconds to claim first place. 

Rylee Luce, a junior from Gering, dominated the 105 bracket, defeating senior Mattaya Mills, of Sutherland, by technical fall, 17-1, in just 2:36. Luce improved her season record to 28-3. The Bulldogs emerged as the top team, amassing 138.5 points.

The 115-pound division featured an undefeated freshman, Rylan Custard, of Southwest, who maintained her perfect 22-0 record with a 19-2 technical fall victory over senior Kyra Robbins, of Bridgeport. Southwest was third in the team standings. 

At 120 pounds, Bridgeport freshman Elizabeth Menke pinned Sandhills Valley senior Saije Phelps in 57 seconds to improve to 20-0 on the season. Bridgeport finished second in the team standings at 128.5 points. 

Southwest senior Ambie Custard secured her 21st consecutive win, pinning junior Macie Vallejo, of Mitchell, in 1:20.

The 155-pound division was highlighted by senior Mariah Duran, of Sandhills Valley, who pinned sophomore Jayden Mueller, of Bridgeport, in 45 seconds to take the title.

Surenity Lewis, a junior from Alliance, edged senior Leeann Mulleavey, of Sidney, 4-2, at 235 pounds.

Sidney finished fifth with 90.5 points, led by a championship performance from senior Saphira Whitley at 170 pounds.
