NEBRASKA CITY – City commissioners agreed to pursue an agreement with High Level Promotions on a fundraising campaign for the sports complex on 29 acres near 1419 N. 19th St.

Mike Roth of Lincoln and Colton Wayne Steer told commissioners that the company specializes in naming rights and sponsorships.

Roth said High Level Promotions will work directly for the city to reach out locally, regionally and nationally with a focus on medical, automobile, energy, financing and beverage sectors. The company also has partnerships with turf and lighting providers, which Roth says can lower costs and get projects moving forward.

The city launched a fundraising website for the $7 million complex after the city paid $600,000 in 2021 for the property, excluding 3,600 square feet of the Elmwood Cemetery.

Soccer fields are estimated cost of $800,000. The complex master plan also includes four ball fields, concessions, restrooms, playground and parking.

Mayor Bryan Bequette asked about donors the city is already working with. Steer said High Level Promotions will only charge a fee for donors it works with.

Parks Commissioner Patrick Wehling said the city will work on a list of donors and foundations that High Level Promotions will not engage.
