FALLS CITY - Richardson County commissioners are offering to make personal donations for event candy.

Draft minutes of the Sept. 11 board meeting say Kristen Morehead from the Law Enforcement Center requested the board authorize the purchase of candy for community events they participate in.

Commissioners said this type of purchase is not specifically provided for within state law but offered to make personal donations for this cause.

In other action, commissioners accepted a $500 bid from Doug Sailors for sale of real estate. The county will remove equipment from the shed, including the generator and propane tank.

The board held a 20-minute executive session with EMA Director Brian Kirkendall and the county clerk.

The draft minutes also say Commissioner Rick Karas received a letter from the Pennsylvania Colony Historical Society of Nebraska requesting fund from the county visitors committee and Richardson County.
