Felony firearms charges against Syracuse man
NEBRASKA CITY – Dale Werner, 65, of Syracuse is charged in Otoe County with use of a firearm to commit a felony and terroristic threats on April 4.
An Otoe County sheriff’s deputy told the court that he was dispatched to an E Road residence on June 4 where a man told him he had been shot two months earlier and showed the deputy wounds that appeared to be healed from bird shot. The deputy told the court he viewed a video of the incident in which Werner used a .22 revolver during a physical altercation with the man to fire several shots.
The court had issued a protection order on behalf of Werner against the 33-year-old man in May. The mother of the man was issued a protection order against Werner on June 6 after she reported fear of retaliation for showing the video to the deputy.
NEBRASKA CITY - Angel Gaines, 50, of Lincoln is charged in Otoe County with possession.
A Nebraska State Trooper told the court that he made a Highway 2 traffic stop on June 3 with assistance from a K9. The trooper said he found 7 grams of meth in a baggie inside a Comet cleaning container with a false bottom.
NEBRASKA CITY - Mario Ortiz, 28, of Myrtle Point, Ore., is charged with meth possession on June 1.
Nebraska City police told the court they were investigating missing gasoline caps at Arbor Cleaning and Ambassador Health and searched a vehicle after finding Ortiz asleep in the back seat.
