FALLS CITY - Jose Reyes Hernandez, 42, of Abilene, Texas was sentenced in Richardson County to two years probation for attempted possession and tampering with evidence on Halloween.

An affidavit says a sheriff’s deputy heard loud exhaust from a southbound pickup truck in Dawson. He said Hernandez voluntarily pulled over on Highway 75. The deputy said Hernandez broke open a plastic bag containing cocaine, spilling the contents inside the truck.

In a separate case, Alihjah Hernandez, 18, of Falls City was sentenced to 18 months probation for assault on Nov. 17.

Falls City police say Hernandez was arrested after a man described an assault at a Harlan Street Kwik Shop that included Hernandez entering the man’s car as he attempted to get away.
