FALLS CITY – Curriculum Director Meghan Robeson told the school board in December that Falls City school buildings received positive classification in an education accountability measure passed by the state Legislature.

The Nebraska Department of Education uses the Accountability for Quality Education System, Today and Tomorrow evaluation system to classify school districts and each building in a school district.

Falls City Public Schools were rated as "Great” and Great ratings were also given to the middle and high schools. The South school was ranked as “Good.”

Robeson said accountability highlights include a drop in chronic absenteeism by 7.9 percent. Language arts scores exceeded the state average in sixth, seventh and eighth grades. Math scores were above average in seventh grade and science scores in eighth grade.

Falls City juniors were .2 percentage points behind the state average ACT composite scores. They exceeded the benchmark in both  English and writing.

In 2022-23, the four-year graduation rate was 100 percent.
