Local students win Name a Snowplow Contest
Fast and Flurryous, Scoopy Doo and Baby Snoda among names
NEBRASKA CITY - The Nebraska Department of Transportation announced winners of its third annual Name a Snowplow Contest.
Transportation department teammates visited winning schools to congratulate the winning students in person.
NDOT uses its fleet of more than 600 snowplows, complete with liquid tanks and more than 200,000 tons of salt to clear Nebraska’s roads.
A Johnson County Central student won with the name Thunder Plow and a South Elementary student in Falls City won with “A Little Pushy.”
Other names include Baby Snoda, Scoopy Doo and the Fast and the Flurryous.
“Getting the opportunity to engage with kids – Nebraska’s next generation of drivers – is a chance for
us to bring safety directly to the schools. It was also a great learning moment to share information about
all the hard work that goes into keeping our roads safe in winter driving conditions,” stated NDOT
Director Vicki Kramer.
