Falls City school pursues career academy

FALLS CITY – Falls City School Superintendent Tim Heckenlively has announced the establishment of a career academy for the 2024-25 school year.

Heckenlively said a collaboration between Falls City Public Schools and the Southeast Community College learning center is poised to create a career orientated educational experience.

He said high school students in Richardson County can take advantage of Southeast Community College’s cutting-edge education and career pathways, as well as career options after high school.

The career academy plans to provide certification pathways in welding and carpentry trades. There is also potential for career academies in teaching, early childhood education, agriculture and certified nursing assistant.
