Marauders Hand Bobcats Exhibition Loss in South Dakota

ABERDEEN, SD - The Peru State men's basketball team fell to the University of Mary Marauders 87-66 on Saturday afternoon in Aberdeen, South Dakota. The Bobcats' record remains 6-1, since it was an exhibition game.
In the first half, Luke Lee (Fr., Frisco, TX) started out with a good jump shot within the first 15 seconds of the game. Shots by Ty Griggs (Jr., Omaha, NE) and AJ Richard (Jr., Pearland, TX) helped the Bobcats go point for point with the Marauders. A drive & jump shot by Christian Tidiane (Jr., Council Bluffs, IA) finished the half for the Bobcats. Though they competed throughout the half, they were down 45-27 going into halftime.
DeAndre Johns (Jr., Kenosha, WI) had a good 3-pointer to start out the second half. The Bobcats had a big 3-point game in the second half, accumulating eight throughout the half. Matthew Wingett (Sr., Winnebago, NE) had four successful shots behind the arc for the Bobcats. Even through their efforts, the Marauders were able to pull out the win 87-66.
Matthew Wingett led the team with 15 points and two rebounds. Christian Tidiane accumulated nine points, four rebounds and three assists for the Bobcats. Just behind him was AJ Richard who had eight points and a team-high six rebounds. Ty Griggs also had eight points and added a rebound against the Marauders.
