FALLS CITY – The Falls City City Council is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. Nov. 6.

A budget hearing, extension to an owner occupied rehabilitation grant and street superintendent certification are on the agenda.

The city council will consider changing the name of Shamrock Circle and Tiger Trail as recommended by Champions Crossing. A resolution is also proposed to change the name of old Highway 73 to Bill Schock Boulevard as adopted by the city council in January of 2015.

The street name change is proposed to include names of historical Falls City residents to preserve the culture and fabric of Falls City and align with the current street-naming system.

Names forwarded including abolitionists Dave and Ann Dorrington, who were Falls City’s first settlers to build a house in 1850s. John H. Morehead is suggested. He was the 17th governor of Nebraska from 1913 to 1917.
