Bellevue man sentenced to several years in prison for distributing child porn
A 35-year-old Bellevue man has been sentenced to 110 months for child pornography charges on Wednesday.
BELLEVUE, Neb. -- A 35-year-old Bellevue man has been sentenced to 110 months for child pornography charges on Wednesday.
The Acting U.S. Attorney said they sentenced 35-year-old Robert A. Ryan in federal court in Omaha to 110 months in prison for distribution of child pornography.
Ryan will serve a five-year term of supervised release after being released from prison. There is no parole in the federal system.
Court documents said on Sept. 17, 2021, a social media app identified at least two videos of minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct that had been distributed to others on the app.
The application captured the Internet Protocol (IP) address that was used to distribute the videos as well as the account name.
Law enforcement said they got information related to the IP addresses, which ultimately identified Ryan as the subscriber and that his residence was in Bellevue.
A search was then executed by law enforcement at Ryan's residence and seized his cell phone.
Officials said that forensic analysis of the cell phone found numerous images of minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct.
This case was investigated by the Omaha FBI's Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force.
