K9 involved in Nebraska city drug arrest
NEBRASKA CITY – Nebraska City police K9 Mack was involved in an arrest June 3 after a traffic stop near the 11th Street viaduct.
Gary Earl, 52, of Nebraska City is suspected of possession of methamphetamine and a knife when prohibited.
A police affidavit says the K9 was deployed while an officer investigated the validity of auto insurance.
In a separate case on June 1, Nicholas Pierce, 29, of Kansas City, Mo., is suspected of possession of Psilocybin mushrooms. He was arrested after a Highway 2 traffic stop.
An arrest warrant was issued Wednesday for a Montgomery, Ala., man charged with possession of an ecstasy pill in a Highway 2 traffic stop on May 13.
Court records say 29-year-old Kentonio Jackson failed to appear in Otoe County court.
Demont Mimms, 44, of Clarksville, Tenn., is suspected of possession of heroin on June 1.
Court records say the Nebraska State Patrol conducted a inspection of his truck and semi-trailer at the Highway 2 weigh station because of a flat tire.
Mimms is also charged with possession of a firearm while committing a felony.
Also in court news, Alexander McGinnis, 25, of Council Bluffs is charged with felony assault by a confined person on June 4.
Court records say cameras at the Otoe County Jail show McGinnis punching another inmate multiple times.
