Woman dies after jumping from window in Omaha
Omaha authorities say a woman died after she was reportedly identified trespassing.

OMAHA, Neb. -- Omaha authorities say a woman died after she was reportedly identified trespassing.
The Omaha Police Department said officers were sent to Jackson Tower on S. 27 St. for a suspected trespassing at approximately 8:00 a.m. on Saturday.
Officers said the Omaha Housing Authority reported a 31-year-old was trespassing in the building.
Police said they went to the ninth floor to try and talk with the woman in an apartment bedroom.
When officers got into the bedroom, the woman reportedly jumped out of the bedroom window.
According to OPD officials, officers attempted to get to the woman as she was jumping, but they were unsuccessful.
The Omaha Fire Department administered aid, but the woman’s injuries were too severe and she died at the scene.
According to an Omaha Police account, there was a period of approximately five seconds between the officers entering the apartment and the woman jumping.
OPD officials said they are still investigating the situation at this time.
