OMAHA, Neb. - For the third time in a week, a Creighton basketball player has entered his name into the NBA Draft.

Ryan Kalkbrenner put his name in as an early entry candidate, meaning he has until the end of May to decide whether he will stay in the draft or return to Creighton.

That comes just days after Arthur Kaluma and Trey Alexander announced their intentions to enter the draft as early entries. They will have the same decision as Kalkbrenner.

Kalkbrenner was an All-Big East performer while helping the Bluejays reach the Elite 8 this past season. He blocked a shot in 25 straight games and scored in double figures in his final 21 games during the campaign.

The Missouri native was recognized as one of five finalists for the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Award, which is given annually to the nation's top collegiate center.

For his career, Kalkbrenner has averaged 11.2 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game.

Almost 250 college basketball players have announced early entry into the draft so far. There are a total of 60 selections in the two-round NBA Draft, though two of those picks have been forfeited by teams after league investigations.
