OMAHA, Neb. -- The Kiewit Luminarium opened its doors on Saturday in Omaha.

The opening took place at the RiverFront and is a 82,000 sq. ft. science center. The Kiewit Luminarium featured over 120 interactive exhibits for visitors to try out.

A ceremony was held to celebrate the opening. There will be another celebration later in the year for the reopening of the Lewis & Clark Landing and Heartland of America Park.

The Kiewit Luminarium is a science center that is meant for "people of all ages, identities, and backgrounds to explore astonishing phenomena at the intersection of science, art, and human perception."

They offer a membership program for individuals, two people, families, grandparents, and educators.

A special program for adults only, or 18-years and older, will be held during the evenings. This is called the Nite Lite and will be held every Thursday night, starting on April 20.
