OMAHA, Neb. -- While on a ride along with the Nebraska State Patrol, an Omaha student showed kindness to a homeless person.

The NSP said that Trooper Hicken took Joe, a Omaha Skutt High School student, on a ride along for a school project.

During the ride, the NSP said that they came across a homeless man near 120th and Q.

On Facebook, the NSP said the homeless man didn't have any shoes, and Joe decided to give the man the shoes he was wearing.

"Helping one person might not change the world, but it could change the world for one person," NSP wrote along with the picture. "Thank you, Joe, for your selfless act of kindness."
