PERU – The Peru State men’s basketball team finished their historic season Wednesday in the second round of the NAIA national tournament.

The Bobcats fell 95 to 88 to host Jamestown in North Dakota.

The Bobcats qualified for the national tournament with their runner-up position in the Heart Conference tournament in February.

Peru State advanced in the national tournament with a 101 to 92 win over North Dakota’s Mayville State. It was the fourth time this season the Bobcats' scoring exceeded 100 points.

 

The Bobcats finish the season with a 25-8 record. They are fifth nationally in field goal percentage ad  field goals made per game at 32.1.

Man Man Baker, Jibril Harris, Troy Houghton, Lorenzo Anderson and Sayvon Traylor were named to the Heart all-conference team. Jibril, Houghton, Traylor and Donzell Johnson surpassed the 1,000 career point mark.

The Bobcat’s 17-5 conference record is the best of all time and the field goal percentage at season’s end is ranked in the national top five.

Their 25 wins are tied for second most in program history.
