NEBRASKA CITY – No injuries were reported Monday after a Nissan Sentra hit a turning pickup, deflected into the southbound lane of Highway 75 and was struck by an evading freight truck.

An Otoe County Sheriff’s Office accident report says 77-year-old Harry Larson was slowing his pickup in the Highway 75 turn lane for Nebraska City when his pickup was hit by a southbound Nissan Sentra driven by 20-year-old Josh Hawkins of Omaha.

The Sentra had partially crossed into the turn lane and was deflected by the impact across the southbound lane.

The accident report says a truck and semi-trailer driven by 51-year-old Duniesky Nieves Acosta of Omaha swerved to miss the accident, but had to try and squeeze between the pickup and Nissan. The truck made secondary impact with the Nissan.

The Nissan driver and passenger were not injured.
