Slama is first woman to chair banking committee

 LINCOLN – State Sen. Julie Slama is the first woman to chair the state Legislature’s Banking, Commerce and Insurance Committee.

She posted on Facebook that she is the youngest woman ever elected to chair any of the Legislature’s standing committees.

Slama is also on the judiciary committee and legislative council.

 

State Sen. Robert Clements  is chairman of the Legislature’s appropriations committee. He is also on the Nebraska Retirement Systems.
