Pulling no punches, Nebraska Congressman Don Bacon is lashing out at a band of fellow Republicans intent on stopping Kevin McCarthy from being the next Speaker of the House.

Bacon, who represents the Omaha area’s 2nd District, telling KFAB radio, “You don’t negotiate with terrorists.” Adding, "It's all been unilateral concessions and they keep moving the goalposts. They keep putting in new demands and I just think at some point you've got to stand up to that."

A spokesman for 1st District Congressman Mike Flood telling NCN Flood is behind McCarthy 100 percent.

I’ll stay here all night to vote for Kevin,” said Flood.

Bacon, Flood and 3rd District Congressman Adrian Smith all started the day backing McCarthy, who continues to fall short of the 218 votes he needs to win the Speakership.

At one point today, 19 Republicans had voted against McCarthy.

The fight is expected to resume Wednesday.
