Rep. Don Bacon
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Congressman Don Bacon, who represents Nebraska's second district, underwent an emergency appendectomy Wednesday night, his office said Thursday morning.
Bacon was admitted to Walter Reed Hospital late Wednesday, for what his office said was "intense abdominal pain."
His symptoms were later diagnosed as appendicitis.
Bacon had an emergency appendectomy late last night, which he described as a “home run.”
“I want to thank the medical team at Walter Reed Hospital for the efficient and swift care they provided not only to me, but those they serve daily,” Bacon said. “I’m looking forward to a full recovery and quickly returning to work.”
Bacon is expected to be released from the hospital on Thursday.
