Donald O. Rosenthal, 94 of Syracuse, passed away on Friday, August 12, 2022, at Pemberly Place in Lincoln. He was born on June 25, 1928, to August & Fannie (Saathoff) Rosenthal near Cook, Nebraska. Don married Donita Robinson on October 16, 1952, at Grace Lutheran Church in Cook.

Don honorably served his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict. After being discharged he came back home to farm, which he continued to do the rest of his life. He was a member of VFW Post #5547 in Syracuse and Luther Memorial Lutheran Church.

He is survived by children Jim (Sara) Rosenthal, Karen (Curt) Evasco, Kent (Monica) Rosenthal; grandchildren Jason (Kristy) Rosenthal, Jeffrey (Ada) Rosenthal, Chris (Bristol) Evasco, Justin Evasco, Travis Evasco, Jake (Martha) Evasco, Alexander Rosenthal, Madeleine Rosenthal; 5 great grandchildren and sister-in-law: Belva Jean Rosenthal.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Donita, son Jerry, and his siblings and spouses Ezra (Viola), Harold (Helen), Clarence (Esther), Esther (Robert) Barr.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 17 at 10:30 a.m. at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Syracuse. The service will be livestreamed on the Luther Memorial Church, NE YouTube page. Burial will follow at the Park Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 16 from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 5-7 P.M. at the funeral home in Syracuse.

Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
