Norman (Cork) Vander Kuur, 64, Talmage

Norman (Cork) Leon Martin Vander Kuur, age 64, of Talmage, NE passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at his home.
Norman Leon Vander Kuur was born on August 9, 1957 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Nebraska City, NE; the son of Norman G. Vander Kuur and Jacqueline E. Eloge Vander Kuur. His family later moved to California where he graduated from Eastside Union High School in San Jose, CA. Following his high school graduation, he attended college and received his Associates Degree.
He entered the United States Air Force on December 16, 1974 and proudly served his country. He was discharged on Feb 9, 1976.
Norman worked as a union electrician, traveling to various places for work. He also worked as a mechanic on airplanes for Lockheed Martin. He was a member of the Talmage American Legion and previously served as a District Commander. He was a licensed pilot and enjoyed flying, riding Harley’s and surfing.
He was united in marriage to Maria Lina Romo on December 10, 2007 in Phoenix, AZ.
He is survived by his wife Maria Lina Vander Kuur; children: Starlene Vander Kuur Reyes, Tyra Crowley, Lacy Vander Kuur, Danielle Vander Kuur, Kasandra Marie Romo and Joshua Robert Rubalcaba; his mom Jacqueline Tanner of Nebr. City; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild; a brother Ted Vander Kuur of Talmage, NE; aunts: Jayne Swearengin of Nebr. City and Julie West (Mark) of Talmage, NE other family and friends.
Norman was preceded in death by his dad and brothers William and Clark “Chip”.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 14, 2022 at Gude Mortuary in Nebr. City. Military Honors will be conducted by the Offutt Air Force Funeral Honors Detail. A lunch will be held at the Eagle’s following the service.
