OPD: Arrests made in connection to Saturday night homicide
The Omaha Police Department and the Homicide Unit arrested three people in an ongoing investigation of a homicide Saturday night.
OMAHA, Neb. -- The Omaha Police Department and the Homicide Unit arrested three people in an ongoing investigation of a homicide Saturday night.
OPD said 21-year-old Jordan Humphrey, 18-year-old Schuyler Buckingham-Yeoman, and 19-year-old Alicia Granneman were all charged in connection to the homicide of 18-year-old Dayton Wenz.
The report said Humphrey has been charged with second-degree murder, use of a weapon to commit a felony, possession of a defaced firearm, two counts of possession with intent to distribute, and tampering with evidence while Buckingham-Yeoman and Granneman have only been charged with accessory to a felony.
According to authorities, the Omaha Police Homicide Unit is investigating the homicide of Wenz that occurred after 11:00 p.m. Saturday. The officers responded to the area of N 34th and Davenport Streets for an alleged shooting report. They found Wenz who was seriously injured by gunfire and he was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died.
